Firefox mobile comming to a Windows Mobile phone near you!

It appears that Firefox mobile is just weeks away from an Alpha release of their much anticipated release for Windows Mobile and Symbian smart phones. It looks as if they have a pretty slick web browsing experience. Let the mobile browser wars commence. Consumers everywhere rejoice!

iPhone to get Street View.

One of the best features of the upcoming G1 from T-Mobile is Google Street View. It will also be included on the upcoming iPhone 2.2 firmware update. There is no word yet if it will take advantage of the iPhone's accelerometers to give it a digital compass like mode like that found on the G1.

Frank's 2000 inch TV gets eclipsed

The worlds largest LCD display will be built on the side of a commercial office building in Dubai. The screen will reach 33 stories high and will be visible from a distance of about a mile away. And you thought that the LCD screen at the Wynn in Vegas was cool.

My Space Music reaches 1,000,000,000th song streamed.

That's right not even two weeks out and myspace music has already streamed over one billion songs over the Internet. To put that in perspective it took Apple 3 years to reach that number of songs downloaded through iTunes. To be fair to Apple it should be taken into consideration that myspace music does not charge to stream music. iTunes downloads cost 99 cents each.

The interesting thing I beleive is the impact that myspace music will have on the recording industry. The RIAA has concentrated so much on persecuting "illegal downloaders" that they have ignored real solutions to the problem. Myspace music offers a viable alternative to buying music from the traditional outlets. The entire media sphere is moving towards this type of business model. Basically have advertisers pay for your media. Just look at how well Hulu.com is doing. I really think that this is the direction that media is heading.

Sega is getting back to hardware.

It looks like Sega is getting back to it's Genesis roots and is making hardware again. This unfortunately will be only for the UK as of now. The new unit will be called the Sega Vision and will feature a built in TV tuner, video PMP, MP3 player, digital camera, ebook reader, and don't forget games! All I have to say is watch out Sony PSP and Nintendo DS.

T-Mobile G1 is offically sold out.

The T-mobile G1 is officially sold out! See what T-Mobile has to say about this.

Given the great anticipation and the heavy pre-sale demand for the T-Mobile G1 with Google, we nearly tripled the number of phones initially available for delivery on our Oct. 22 launch date, and have sold through them all. However, to accommodate additional T-Mobile customers who want to pre-order a device, they now have the opportunity to place a pre-order through Oct. 21, for delivery at a later date. Also, people can still pre-register on the T-Mobile G1 Web site to be notified prior to launch where they can purchase the device beginning Oct. 22.

According to tmonews.com those who order via pre-sale after October 3rd, will have to wait until November 10th to get theirs.

Amazon Kindle 2

Check out these images from Boy Genius. The one on the left is the original Kindle and the one on the right is the sequel. A few things are missing from this version.

  • Compact Size
  • SD card reader
  • Accessible battery
Forgive me if I think this is a step back from the original.

Alicia Keys and Jack White team up for the Quantum of Solace theme song.

Check out the music video for the new James Bond theme song featured in Quantum of Solace. It definitely departs from the traditional James Bond theme's while incorporating the overall feel. You really get the feeling that Jack White and Alicia Keys were given a little creative freedom with this song. So enjoy and look for the film on November 14th

Also check out this proposed version.

Playstation 4 to be the same as PS3?

This is a little mind boggling, but I guess it makes sense when you consider that it's pretty much the most technically advanced gaming system on the market. The Playstation 4 will be using the same Cell processor that the Playstation 3 is currently using. How are they going to improve it then? Well they are planing on making small changes to make the machine faster. The overall architecture will remain the same. There have also been rumors that the PS4 will be more like a media center this time around. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Stroke of Genius makes Ford a little sensitive about the past.

A new film called Stoke of Genius tells the tale of Bob Kearns who invented the intermittent wiper and his struggles with Ford. According to the film Mr Kearns approached Ford with the intermittent wiper idea and they stole a prototype from him and put the feature in their vehicles. The film then chronicles his long legal battle with Ford to get credit and paid. So Ford sees things differently and has posted the following press release.

PRESS RELEASE
The film "Flash of Genius" chronicles the life story of Bob Kearns, who asserted that he invented the intermittent windshield wiper and sued Ford, Chrysler and other automakers for patent infringement. While films like "Flash of Genius" are made for entertainment purposes, the facts are often less dramatic.

Bob Kearns as well as hundreds of engineers from many companies, including Ford, helped develop the intermittent wiper as part of an evolution of existing automotive and electronic components.

While there are inaccuracies in the film, Ford sees no value in re-hashing the history of a legal case that was resolved in court almost 20 years ago, when a jury ruled that Ford did not willfully violate Mr. Kearns' patent.

Today, Ford continues to make engineering and design breakthroughs in areas such as fuel efficiency, safety and smart technology, and is proud of its 100-year legacy of innovation in automotive technology.

Nintendo Wii HD

According to whattheyplay.com in 2011 Nintendo will be releasing the next version of their popular game console the Wii. As the title of this article suggests it will support HD gaming. They are also working hard to make sure that it will also support backwards compatibility with their previous systems as they did with the current Wii.

They also report that we can expect to see a new DS model soon. It's rumored to have dual touch screens, mp3 playback, and a video camera. It sounds like fun to me!

You Tube to allow video up to 1GB

What does that mean for you? MOVIES!!! Up to now You Tube has only allowed video's up to 100mb to be uploaded. That meant that if there was a movie on You Tube then it was normally broken up into parts. Most movie uploaders and watchers have been using other video sites like veoh, megavideo, google video, etc... to get their pirate fix. Now you can use You Tube as well as they have a new upload tool that will allow for uploads up to 1gb.

Now your iPhone can take your pulse

This is pretty cool. I can't wait until it comes out for my G1 too.
